On Wednesday 8th March the Eco group hosted a whole school Football Tournament to raise awareness of the importance of Fairtrade.
We started by doing a whole school warm up and then started the tournament outside.
Each and everyone of you should be very proud of yourselves for playing fair, giving encouragement to others, cheering on your friends and for showing great sportsmanship! Congratulations to the two winning teams 'The Ripe Bananas' and 'The Yellow Bananas' and to everyone for taking part.
What a fantastic afternoon, well done everyone!
Can you spot yourself...
As you may be aware there is currently a proposal in place for the Local Government to build 12,500 houses in Bury. Some of these houses will be built on brown belt but many of them are proposed to built on our beautiful countryside. We discussed this issue in our most recent meeting and the children felt very strongly against this proposal.
Here are some of our Eco Worriers campaign posters.
UPDATES...
Thank you to all the parent and friends of our school who have offered to help us over the year with our projects. Your help really appreciated and we can not wait to get started!
We would also like to welcome all the new members to our environmental group. We are all so happy and excited for you to join and we look forward to making our school an even better environmental friendly place to learn and work in.
Walk to School will start on Monday 7th November - (please see separate post). Members of Eco group have been allocated classes to work closely with and collect data each week.
And last but not least thank you to all children who created and designed eco codes for our school. The standard was really high and we are so proud of the children who took time and effort to produce such wonderful work. We have decided on one Code and that will be displayed on our Eco Group display.
