Welcome letter from our PTA Chair

WELCOME to Our Lady of Lourdes Parents and Teacher Association (PTA)

The Committee roles were agreed at the AGM meeting on Wednesday the 13 September 2017.

Chair – Melanie Haydock

Vice Chair – Eva Duka

Treasurer – Kay Howard to remain until February 2018. Lisa Morley to shadow then take over the role.

Secretary – Kat Gabrielides

Marketing – Elaine Radcliffe to remain until Christmas shadowed by Jess Nuttall who will take over

the role after the Christmas Fair.

Catering – Donna Crawford to be shadowed by Louise Sowinski and Emma Cassidy who will take over. Kay Howard and Katrina Jankowiak will assist if required.




We are a dedicated team consisting of mums, dads, grandparents and teachers across all year groups who are not specialists in fundraising.


We work hard to raise money on behalf of the school for “extras”. This has included purchasing ipads, the summerhouse for the Rainbow Programme and contributing towards the cost of coaches. Over this academic year 2016/17, we have managed to raise;

  • £750 from hosting a fashion show evening

  • Nearly £2,000 at the Christmas fair

  • Nearly £400 at the February disco

  • Just short of £500 at a family Chocolate bingo evening at Easter and;

  • At the Summer Fair we raised nearly £2,000.


    We helped fund the essential items for the Gardening Club in school, which nearly 30 children from school were a part of as an extracurricular activity last term. Our current target is to replace the play equipment at the front of school which is estimated to cost around £14,000. We are hoping to secure some charity funding with the current PTA funds just below the £5k made last year and hoping with some existing school funds we can replace the equipment in Summer 2018. So let’s get fundraising even more. Any new ideas are greatly welcomed.


    We also provide FUN events for children, parents and teachers and contribute to the sense of community within the school.


    The success of the PTA is hugely dependant on donations including cakes, raffle prizes and fund matching from businesses and volunteers to help run the various stalls at school events over the year. Our PTA depends on a continual cycle of parental involvement.
