The enjoyment of Mathematical experiences is the key aim of the Foundation Stage, achieved through practical experiences underpinned by oral development. The understanding of Number, Pattern, Measurement, Shape and Space is developed through stories, rhymes, songs, games and imaginative play.
We have been exploring the composition of numbers. We have been using the stem sentences 1 and another 1 is 2, 1 and 1 and 1 is 3.
