Every child a Creator

At Our Lady of Lourdes we believe it is imperative that every child is a creator and has the self-belief for this. We believe that all of our children through a variety of creative and practical activities should be taught the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to engage in an interactive process of designing and making. They should have an understanding of their own cultural capital and work in a range of relevant contexts for example, their home, school, the wider environment, local museums and art galleries.  In line with our mission statement to Love, Learn and Grow we believe that all of our children should use art to show love to culture and how crafters and designers have shaped this and our history. To learn the skills and knowledge of Design and Technology and its great craft makers. To have their imaginations stimulated enough that they grow in self-confidence and have the ability to express creatively and freely.
