One more week to go!
Only one more week to the Half Term break! We have had such a busy half term, I'm sure the children are ready for some time to enjoy the holidays. However, we still have a busy week in store. This week in school it is World Religions week and the children will be learning about some of the stories of the Hindi faith.
Oh I do love to be beside the seaside!
The seaside is our topic for this term, and we will be doing lots of fun things linked to this theme. Please see the Summer Term overview for more details.
Just a reminder that English homework will be given out each Friday, to be returned the following Tuesday, and Maths homework will be set every Tuesday on the My Maths website, to be completed by the following Tuesday. Please ask if you have any questions.
I have also added some extra homework tasks in the class 'Homework Information' section, should you wish to do extra Maths and Spelling with your child.
Our class reading target is for every child to read 3 times a week; that equates to 84 reads in a week. If we can achieve this, we will have a whole class treat on a Friday afternoon.
Many thanks for all your support.
From Mrs Doyle and the Year 1 team.
