We explored what 'Good News' means. We picked a name out of a bag of another child in our class and wrote them a letter to tell them our 'Good News'. We then read our letters to them on the carpet.
We learned about how Jesus' friends were sad when Jesus went back to Heaven and how happy they were when Jesus sent a new friend - The Holy Spirit. The children made happy and sad faces on lolly sticks. We retold the Pentecost Story together and the children turned their faces from sad to happy throughout the story.
The children made an Alleluia banner together using the Pentecost colours- red, orange and yellow.
The children made streamers out of tissue paper using the Pentecost colours of red, orange and yellow. We learned ‘The Holy Spirit’ Song and the children made their own actions to it. We waved our streamers and danced to the song to celebrate Pentecost.
To finish our Pentecost topic, the children discussed questions together. We joined our hands, closed our eyes and said 'Thank you' to God for the Good News of Pentecost and for our Good News.
