We watched the landing of the rover 'Perseverance' on Mars. The children in Reception set a whole school challenge - Could everyone help 'Humpty the Astronaut' land safely on Mars?
We worked in groups to design our landers. We thought carefully about which materials would be good to use to protect Humpty.
We made our landers.
We tested our landers.
We checked to see if Humpty had landed safely - success!!! Well done everyone!
We investigated to see if we could make different shaped bubbles. The children made square and triangle bubble wands using straws and pipe cleaners and had the super idea to make heart shaped ones too! We had great fun blowing bubbles and found that the bubble always became a sphere no matter what the shape of the bubble wand was. Super investigating everyone!
We investigated if we could make different sized bubbles. The children blew down a straw and found that they made very small bubbles. The children really enjoyed making giant bubbles with the giant bubble maker. Super exploring everyone!
