We explored what it means to celebrate. The children had lots of lovely memories about celebrations they had been to. The children at home and at school made some super party lists.
We used the ideas from our party lists to have a party celebration. We had decorations, party food and played party games.
We talked about how the Parish Family celebrates in church. We looked at how the different parts of church are used during celebrations and we role played a baptism and a wedding. The children had some super ideas and found things from around the classroom to make a church on the carpet.

We listened to The Presentation Story and learned about Mary and Joseph taking baby Jesus to the temple. We made candles to represent Jesus being the 'light of the world'.
