With the Apostolic letter “Patris corde” (“With a Father’s Heart”), Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of St Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. The Year of St Joseph has been proclaimed from 8th December 2020 to 8th December 2021. In the Diocese of Salford, The Year of St Joseph and the Family will be marked from 19th March 2021 - 19th March 2022.
St Joseph was the husband of Our Lady and foster father to Jesus. Joseph fulfilled his mission to love God and serve others.
St Joseph was a hard worker. He taught Jesus that we should always do our best - in our work, our studies and in caring for our world and one another.
We can do that by using our gifts and talents to help other people, especially those who are suffering and living in poverty.
