Love, Learn and Grow

Science

We have loved their science carousel for #ScienceWeek today! As we’ve learnt about the life cycle of ducks, made invisible ink and explored chemical reactions to blow up balloons.

'Which material will make the strongest bridge?'

Lots of fantastic investigating as part of Science Week!

We’ve been looking closely at materials as part of our investigation in science week

Grouping and Classifying

Scavenger Hunt - Finding objects can we squash, bend, stretch and twist.

Changing Shape - Can we squash, bend, stretch or twist it?

Lots of Super Scientists in Year 2 today investigating our question:”Can hard materials be absorbent?” We had a few surprises!

We’ve had so much fun experimenting today and exploring our predictions about the absorbency or certain materials

Is it suitable?!

We played a game where we turned over an object card and a material card. We had to say if the material was ‘suitable’ or ‘unsuitable’ for the job. Lots of super discussion from everyone and excellent use of Scientific vocabulary!

We’ve enjoyed asking our big questions about our new topic of ‘Everyday Materials’ and learning all about our famous scientists
