We’ve started our new English topic of Fairytales with a twist. We’ve had a VERY exciting visitor as Mr Wolfy comes to tell his side of the story of not actually being that ‘big and bad’ at all.

Exciting news this morning in year 2. Our little friend Wolfie has began to trust us enough to tell us his real side of the story of Little Red Riding Hood as we continue to write our alternative versions of fairytales.
Exciting ‘Wolfie’ has given us the next part of his story. Lots of excited children today as we continue with our own big writes using all his exciting new words that he is teaching us too in his little notes!
We’ve been reading with a difference in ‘Super Reading Boosters’.
We’ve started our new text ‘Bala Menudo’ we’ve been exploring the travelling community and their older traditions. We’ve been looking at objects from the community and story telling all about them.

In our new text ‘Bala Mengro’ the character Ossiri is told she cannot play her instrument because the sound isn’t great but she wants to play because she loves music. We created a ‘conscious alley’ where the children are her conscience and give her ideas on what is best to do

We’ve been listening to traditional folk music like Ossiri - we then gathered around our fire-pits and created our own songs.

We’ve have had some exciting news this morning as we’ve discovered some bones that we believe have been left from the ‘Bala Mengro’ character from our exciting new book. We can’t believe it. Now time to write some instructions on the best way to catch him.
