Daily reading:
Children will self-select a RWI bag book and class library book and swap when they have been read throughout the week. We ask that reading record books are returned and signed and dated once these books have been read. Books are expected to be read and fully understood before changing.
The children will also be given their class phonics story book once it has been read three times in class. This should then be returned once the children have fully understood the story.
Read Write Inc support video links may also be sent to consolidate class phonics.
Spelling:
Spelling will be practised daily in class to further support learning. Weekly spelling activities to aid fluency and recall will be set each Friday to be returned each Tuesday. The spellings will link to the phonics lessons covered that week.
Maths:
Using Numbots the children can practice their number fluency and recall. Details of log ins are posted into the children's journals on SeeSaw.
General:
Topic Based Termly Homework will be set each half term based around that term’s topic. Your child is expected to complete at least two of the tasks set each term and this is to be brought in and celebrated in school. These will be set on SeeSaw.
