Jackson Pollock
We started our Class Artist Study by listening to ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi. We talked about what it made us think about and then drew what came into our minds.
We looked at some art pieces from Jackson Pollock and used ‘Talk Partners’ to talk about what we thought the art showed.
We watched a video of how Jackson Pollock painted, putting his paper on the floor and walking around it whilst he painted. We talked about the techniques he used (dripping and splatting the paint) and then had great fun creating our own paintings in the style of Jackson Pollock.
We put some quiet music on and had an art gallery in class. The children walked around and looked at each other’s paintings. They talked about what they liked about the paintings and why they thought each group had given their painting its name.
