The children have spent the first two days of the Summer Term learning about Judaism. We have been focusing on learning about shabbat and why the synagogue is such a special place for Jewish people. As part of this topic in class we baked challah bread, a special braided Jewish bread that is eaten on the Sabbath. The children really enjoyed baking (and eating!) the bread and I was very impressed with their baking and braiding skills. The finished loaves look slightly overdone in these pictures but I assure you it tasted delicious.
