Assembly 3.10.16
St. Francis of Assisi
On the 3rd. October 2016 the pupil chaplains led a whole school assembly about St. Francis of Assisi. They talked about his background and that Francis is the patron saint of animals and ecology. They also talked about Pope Francis, his choice of name and his mission to remember the poor and care for God's creation.
During the assembly the band, led by Mrs. Cassidy, played two hymns based on the work of St. Francis - Make Me a Channel of Your Peace and Canticle of the Sun.
The bidding prayers included:
- Celebrating God's creation and caring for the world.
- Remembering and helping the poor.
- Peace throughout the world.
