Understanding division
Today we explored how the times tables we have been learning can help us to understand division. We talked about the word ‘sharing’ in mathmatical terms. We discovered the idea of dividing being the same as sharing into equal groups. We then investigated splitting 12 objects into 2 groups and then 3 groups.
