We’ve been computing and gathering our own data and then presenting this as a spreadsheet and then bar charts and our charts.

Lots of fun in year 3 art club this week

Lots of fraction fun to revise our new knowledge by playing a board game.

Rosary Procession and Crowning of Our Lady.

We joined the whole school in a Rosary Procession and then we spent some time crowning and praying to Our Lady.

Our Feast of Ascension Artwork

Our first session in our mindfulness drama workshop. We focused on different emotions and how we display these. We then looked at ways to navigate these when we feel them. We then were introduced to our butterfly that tells us how great and wonderful each one of us is.

Fun in our well-being drama intervention with a positive alley formed where the children walk through and are told nice things about each other by their peers.

Shadow Fun

Lots of fun in year 3 shadow making today and learning all about light and opaque and transparent materials. We then took pictures of our shadows that we created and wrote about them.

It’s time to say goodbye to our reading buddy Wooly after he arrived when we started our Stone Age topic. First though it looks like he had a great last day with the children (these photos taken by them). We’ve had great fun thank you for coming to visit and read with us.

We love to meditate in year 3

Coming Home

Exciting morning in year 3 as a new reading buddy has flown in and landed in our classroom. He brought a note tucked under his wing and a book called ‘Coming Home’. We are excited to explore it.

Our performance poetry based around our new text.

We created a conscience alley looking at whether the little robin should go with the fisherman or not.

Well what a beautiful surprise we started with just one little Robin reading buddy and now we have two! Our stunning text ‘Coming Home’ is all about a robin trying to find his way home and we find out his home is actually another robin rather than a place. It looks like since we’ve been writing our own poetry based on this text our little class robin has also found her way home and has been joined by a new little robin. Such a magical morning with lots of excited faces all ready to continue their wonderful writing today.

Working Scientifically

We’ve been creating our own greenhouses today and planting. We will do scientific observations now to see which plants grow as we learn about what plants need to grow successfully.

We’ve been exploring maps and locations with our new 6 figure grid.
