Year 3 have been exploring all things forces! We went on to create self made chain reactions looking closely at both contact and non-contact forces. We then went on to explore the addition of magnetism to such reactions. 🧲🧱

Year 3 have been busy exploring how biodiverse our School setting really is? 🐛🪴🌱🪱 We visited four key sites and recorded both the quantity of flora and fauna found at each location in the form of a tally chart.

Year 3 have been exploring all things forces, conducting their very first self led investigation! We tested the effect alternating materials has on force. The children tested their chosen variables and had a lot of fun doing so! 🚙📏

Year 3 have been exploring the the rock cycle using 🍫! We revised the formation of Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks through the malleability of a tasty treat.

Rock fact files 🪨 - Year 3 have adopted the role of geologists, studying the inner layers of our Earth, in doing so we have a better understanding of a rock’s life cycle.

Year 3 conducted their own experiment, testing which rocks are the most permeable. We then deduced which rock fit into what category. 🪨✍🏼

Year 3 have created their own ‘Rock cycles’, with actions and a song to help them remember the cyclical nature of our three rocks of study. 🪨

Year 3 have been recapping their knowledge of rocks, in order to prepare for a self designed investigation surrounding the absorbency of rocks.🪨💦

Year 3 have been busy taking part in a bush-tucker trial (Rock edition), exploring a variety of different rocks through purely touch. We then went on to explain the origin of these rocks. 🪨🌋
