Parent Forum
Purpose
Regular, open communication and consultation is highly valued at Our Lady of Lourdes RCPS. A parent's forum aims to represent the views of all parents and to be a voice to inform our school of the needs of children and families. It facilitates communication between parents, carers, staff and governors.
This takes place by:
- Regular communication with parents and carers
- Regular meetings
The forum is not in place to address specific concerns about an individual child or issues relating to individual members of staff. Parents who need to discuss issues should approach their class teacher or member of SLT in the first instance.
Objectives of the Parent Forum:
The objectives of the Parent's Forum is to facilitate positive and effective two way communication between parents, carers and the school, providing a channel for communication, feedback and suggestions for improvements.
Specifically to:
- Promote partnership between staff, children, parents and carers.
- Develop and promote ideas which support the education and welfare of the children and parents.
- Identify and represent the view of the parents on matters affecting the education and welfare of the children.
Parent Forum meetings:
Meetings will be held half termly.
A member of the SLT will chair the meeting.
Parents and carers will have the opportunity to include items in the agenda. If parents / carers are unable to attend the meeting, they can email in an idea or suggestion to the main office prior to the meeting.
The agenda and minutes of the meeting will be on the website after the meeting under Parent Forum.
